Your community energy company, Madison Gas and Electric (MGE), is transitioning its energy supply, targeting net-zero carbon electricity while maintaining our fundamental commitments to safe, reliable and affordable energy and to community-focused customer service.
 
In early 2022, MGE announced a goal to reduce carbon emissions at least 80% by 2030 as we work toward net-zero carbon electricity by mid-century. Planned wind, solar and battery storage projects make up more than 40% of our expected capital investment through 2027. These investments, combined with the MGE’s ongoing transition away from coal, will help us achieve our goals while maintaining energy affordability for customers.
