MGE Launches New Electric Vehicle Resource Online
Transportation accounts for more than 25% of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions. Madison Gas and Electric (MGE), our regulated utility, is pursuing a multi-pronged strategy to electrify transportation to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and to enable future market growth.
Electric Vehicles: There's a lot to love!
MGE works with many partners and stakeholders to grow the use of electric vehicles (EVs). To help customers and stakeholders further understand EV technology and its benefits, MGE recently launched another resource—
LovEV, a website covering the different aspects of driving an EV. From the types of
models available to
charging options as well as cost and
environmental benefits, LovEV is an easy online stop to learn more about the EV experience.
Under its Energy 2030 framework, MGE is committed to reducing carbon emissions at least 40% by 2030 and advancing new technologies, such as electric vehicles, to create a more sustainable future. LovEV is designed to serve as a trusted resource to help customers make informed decisions about their next vehicle.
Electrification of transportation as a key strategy
The electrification of transportation is considered a key strategy for deep decarbonization. With LovEV, customers can learn more about MGE's growing EV public charging network, which is powered by clean energy, and the company's programs and expertise available to facilitate fast and convenient EV charging at homes, businesses and multifamily complexes.
MGE has been committed to advancing the electrification of transportation for nearly a decade, beginning with the installation of its public charging network. The company now has more than 30 public charging stations available in the Madison area.
