MGE Expands Natural Gas Service

Our regulated utility, Madison Gas and Electric (MGE), continues to extend natural gas service to new customers as part of its gas expansion model, or GEM, program.

In 2018, GEM projects were completed in five areas, giving residents the opportunity to switch from propane or heating oil to natural gas from MGE. Since the GEM program began in 2012, MGE has added nearly 1,400 new customers and more than 250 miles of main.

MGE's program provides customers with safe and reliable natural gas service while expanding our service into new communities. The GEM program continues this year with projects in two communities.
