MGE Energy is cited as a top financial performer among electric utilities in a recent report by Regulatory Research Associates (RRA). The RRA study reviewed 36 electric utilities nationwide.

MGE Energy ranked among the top five companies within the eight financial quality metrics in the RRA study. No other electric utility equaled MGE Energy's rank. For example, MGE Energy received:

• A No. 1 rating for its return on total capital, which is a profitability ratio based on both debt and equity capital.
• A No. 2 rating for its capital structure, which is how a company finances its overall operations and growth. MGE Energy's capital structure is comprised of 65% common equity.
• A No. 2 rating for its pre-tax interest coverage, which is used to determine how easily a company can pay its interest expenses on outstanding debt.
