45 Years of Dividend Increases
This year marks 45 years of consecutive dividend increases for shareholders of MGE Energy.
The MGE Energy Board of Directors in July increased the regular quarterly dividend rate 5 percent to $0.37 per share on the outstanding shares of the company's common stock. This raises the annualized dividend rate by 7 cents from $1.41 per share to $1.48 per share.
"We recognize the importance of dividend growth to our shareholders," Chairman, President and CEO Jeff Keebler said. "Our board's action to increase the regular quarterly dividend rate reinforces the strength and resilience of MGE Energy's long-term business strategy in building your community energy company for the future."
Throughout the last 44 years, MGE Energy has paid more than $1 billion in cash dividends to our shareholders.
No other Wisconsin utility or utility holding company can match MGE Energy's history of dividend increases. The financial publisher Mergent consistently ranks MGE Energy as a "Dividend Achiever" for the company's commitment to the annual dividend.
