MGE Energy takes its environmental responsibility seriously. Our regulated utility, Madison Gas and Electric (MGE), is developing solutions for a cleaner tomorrow.
 
MGE's 10-year electric generation plan is estimated to reduce the company's emission rates even though total customer electric sales are projected to increase. Our Energy 2015 plan ensures a reliable and balanced energy supply and reduces emissions by:

• Adding more renewable energy.
• Increasing conservation.
• Switching old coal generation to new cleaner coal power.

Greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide (CO2) from power plants, are not covered by federal or Wisconsin regulations. MGE is taking voluntary steps to reduce its CO2 impacts.
