MGE's wind power capacity has increased nearly eight times—from 11 to 87 megawatts—in the last year:

• MGE Energy recently constructed and commissioned a new 30-megawatt wind farm in north-central Iowa. Our 18 new Vestas wind turbines stand more than 260 feet tall.
• The company also is purchasing 46 megawatts from two new wind farms-one in Wisconsin and the other in Iowa.

To encourage the development of more solar energy, we launched a new pilot solar buyback program this year. Customers who install eligible photovoltaic (PV) systems at their homes and businesses can sell their solar energy to MGE.

This increase in renewable energy has allowed us to significantly expand our green pricing program, Green Power Tomorrow, and lower the cost of our green energy for customers.
